Step 2 - Customizing the FreeView Splash Screen

Click on the Customizable Splash Screen tab to display the dialog box that allows the layout and appearance of the FreeView Splash Screen to be customized.

You may specify two images, one as a background and the other as a copyright image or logo and there are a number of lines of text which can be edited and repositioned to achieve the desired result.

Customizing individual items

Images

To select a new image for the background or logo, select the appropriate tab ('Splash Screen Image' or 'Logo Image') and the click on the browse button. Select an image file using the Windows File Browser. To position the images within the overall area of the splash screen use the Horizontal Position and Vertical Position sliders. These specify a relative position within the full area for the upper left corner of an image.

Note: If you wish to include more than one logo, create one image with more than one logo in it in an external image manipulation program and then read in that image.

Project Text

There are three lines of text, over which the user has full control. They are intended for project details but can be used for any text information. To change the text, edit it directly in the white text boxes. To change the font and font colour click on the appropriate button and use the standard Windows forms to change their properties. As with the images, use the Horizontal Position and Vertical Position sliders to position the text within the splash screen window.

Note: You can enter a © by holding down the Alt key and typing 184 on the numeric keypad (on the right hand side of a standard keyboard). To get ® hold down the Alt key and type 169.
